Edwardsville Pride and Inclusivity Center, also known as EPIC or EPICenter, is an emerging nonprofit focused on providing support and a voice for our LGBTQ+ community.
We are run by people from our community, for our community.
We aim to provide resources, information, guidance, and whatever else our community may need throughout their journey.
We want everyone to have a genuine sense of pride in every aspect of who they are, as well as a way to make a difference in the world around them through that pride.
We endeavor to be active in the greater Edwardsville area through local activism and action.
Our pride is not just a quiet waving of flags; it is loud, ground-shaking work and it starts here at the EPICenter.
Where: Edwardsville Public Library
When: June 11th, 2025, 6 pm
Join us for our ongoing series of events: "EPICenter Presents:", where we're hosting public viewings of LGBTQIA+ movies and documentaries showcasing our history and experiences with a chance for discussion afterwards.
In honor of Pride Month and the upcoming anniversary of Stonewall, our next film will be "After Stonewall".
"In 1969 the police raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in New York City's Greenwich Village, leading to three nights of rioting by the city's gay community. With this outpouring of courage and unity the Gay Liberation Movement had begun.
After Stonewall chronicles the history of lesbian and gay life from the riots at Stonewall to the end of the century. It captures the hard work, struggles, tragic defeats and exciting victories experienced since them. It explores how AIDS literally changed the direction of the movement."
